AI assistants
Ask your AI assistant about your WhatsApp conversations and contacts, send an approved template or build a chatbot, in plain language. You approve the connection on one screen and choose what it may do.
order_update template to that contact.” (only if you allow sending)It works through a standard called MCP, served at one address. Engage is not listed or endorsed by the AI apps below; you add the address yourself as a custom connector or server.
In Engage open Settings → API keys. The Connect an AI app card shows your address. It looks like this:
https://engage.scale360x.com/mcp
You need to be an admin of the workspace to approve a connection.
ChatGPT. Open Settings → Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then create a connector (an MCP server), paste the address and choose OAuth as the sign-in method.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop). Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste the address.
Claude Code. Run this, then type /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to engage:
claude mcp add --transport http engage https://engage.scale360x.com/mcp
Codex. Add the server in ~/.codex/config.toml (or with codex mcp add), then sign in if it asks:
[mcp_servers.engage] url = "https://engage.scale360x.com/mcp"
Cursor. In ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):
{ "mcpServers": { "engage": { "url": "https://engage.scale360x.com/mcp" } } }These apps change their menus often, so the exact labels may differ from what you see. The address and the approval screen below stay the same.
The app sends you to Engage, signing you in first if needed. On the approval screen:
Ask the assistant to run whoami. It should answer with your workspace name, the WhatsApp number it can see and its permissions.
Not for apps that support signing in (ChatGPT and Claude connectors, Claude Code, Codex). They open an approval screen in Engage, and the key is created for you once you approve. Tools that only take a fixed header can still use a key you create under Settings → API keys.
Only the one WhatsApp number you pick on the approval screen: its contacts, conversations, messages and templates. Other numbers and other workspaces are not visible to it, and it cannot widen that by itself.
Only if you tick those permissions. Viewing is the only thing selected by default. Sending to many people (broadcasts) is a separate permission and each launch still needs an explicit confirmation.
Open Settings → API keys, find the app under Connected apps and press Revoke. Its access stops immediately.
A connection lasts 90 days. After that the app asks you to reconnect, which is the same approval screen again.
It uses the same API access as the REST API, so it needs a plan that includes API access. If your plan does not, the approval screen tells you.
Check that the address ends in /mcp, that you are signed in to Engage as an admin, and that your plan includes API access. Menus in ChatGPT, Claude and other tools change often, so a label here may differ from what you see; the address and the approval step stay the same.
