Google Sheets
Look up, read, add and update rows in a Google Sheet.
Why use it
Your bookings, leads or price list already live in a Google Sheet. Without this, someone copies each chat into the sheet by hand, or customers wait for an answer that is one row away.
For example: A customer asks “is my booking confirmed?”. The chatbot looks up their phone number in your bookings sheet and replies with the date and status.
What it can do
- Look up rows. Find the rows where a column matches a value, for example the booking with this phone number.
- Read rows. Read rows from the top of the sheet, or from a given row.
- Add a row. Add a new row at the bottom, filling columns by their names.
- Update rows. Find the rows where a column matches, and change some of their columns. Can add the row if none matches.
How to use it
- 1Connect it once. Choose “Sign in with Google”, sign in, and pick the spreadsheets this workspace may use: only the files you pick are shared, never your whole Drive. Or use a service account key instead (share each sheet with its e-mail as Editor).
- 2Add a “Use an app” step and choose Google Sheets.
- 3Pick what it does: look up a row (say, the booking with this phone number), add a row, or update one.
- 4Fill the columns from what the customer typed, like {{vars.name.reply_text}}.
- 5Use what it found in the next message.
