How to Collect Payments on WhatsApp With a Payment Link
Customers who are ready to pay should not have to leave the chat. Send a payment link inside the conversation and let the chatbot carry on when it is paid.

A customer is ready to buy. They have picked a seat, a slot or a product. Now you send them to another site to pay, and a good share of them never come back.
The fix is simple: take the payment inside the conversation.
How it works
- The customer chooses what they want in the chat.
- The chatbot creates a payment link for the exact amount, using your own payment account.
- The link goes out as a message with a "Pay now" button.
- The customer pays by UPI, card or netbanking.
- When the payment arrives, the chatbot carries on on its own: it sends the ticket, the receipt or the booking details.
Nobody on your team has to check whether a payment came in.
What you need
- An account with Razorpay, Stripe or Cashfree
- The provider connected once in Engage (an API key, and a webhook so the chat is told when a payment arrives)
- A chatbot with a "Create a payment link" step
Where it works best
- Bookings: tickets, appointments, table reservations
- Orders: a customer confirms a basket in the chat
- Collections: fee, loan or invoice reminders with a link attached
- Events: seats held for a short time and confirmed on payment
You can see how this fits together in our bus ticket booking flow, which shows the chat and the automation behind it.
Keep the customer informed
Say what the amount is for, and what happens next. After the payment, confirm it in the same chat. Customers who see a quick confirmation trust the process.
Test with a small amount
Use the provider's test mode first, run the whole chat yourself, and only then switch to live keys.

Common questions
Which payment providers work?
Engage connects to Razorpay, Stripe and Cashfree. You connect your own account, so money goes straight to you.
How does the chat know it was paid?
You add the provider's webhook once. When a payment arrives, the chatbot continues by itself, for example by sending the ticket or receipt.
